It was the day before the show that the feeling truly hit me. I was standing in the center of the stage and suddenly there was this overwhelming feeling of being drowned, it felt like my lungs were searching for that extra bit of air to save my life. In the midst of all the commotion and the running around, for the first time I knew what all of this meant…

Why so serious?
To prepare for his role as the Joker, Heath Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for a month, formulating the character’s psychology, posture and voice (the last one he found most difficult to do). He started a diary, in which he wrote the Joker’s thoughts and feelings to guide himself during his performance. He … Read more
Dasavatharam – Movie Review

[rating: 4.5/5]
There are movies that are bad… movies that are good… movies that are great… But once in a while a movie comes about that cannot simply be measured by a scale of words, Dasavataram is one such movie! Everything from the script to the brilliant(I will spare the superlatives) acting to the special effects to the background score was awesome.
The biggest critics of the movie have asked ‘The Same could have been achieved with 10 different actors, why ten roles?’ People have described it as really high quality and costly narcissism.
Doubles, Triples and Quadruples
I watched the premier show of Evam‘s “Doubles, Triples and Quadruples” at Rangashankara last evening. The play was a fun ride combined with lots of laughs, some touching moments and some surprises.
I had personally a memorable and delightful evening thanks to EVAM and the crowd present there… But before I talk about that here are my thoughts about the play.
The Day The Show Went On…
There are a few things in my life that I am absolutely proud of achieving. Yesterday that list got one more line added below it.
When we started the day all of us were crossing our fingers for the rain to stay away. There was nothing left to chance, every prop, costume, furniture was checked and double checked. It was an evening that was a month and a half in the making, not to mention a stressful last couple of weeks. The guest list was long and the actors were very nervous(Well dah!)
It was around 5 pm that the first signs hit us. The past week or so had seen short heavy showers in the evening everyday. Since we were performing on an open air stage we were hopeful that the rain would either keep away or make a splash and dash :P
By 5:30 pm the rain was heavy and consistent. Many among us cheered the early rain, as the show was scheduled for 7:30 pm and we were hopeful for the rain to be done by 6:30 pm. That was going to be the second disappointment of the day.
By 7:30 there was a decent sized audience(large if you consider it was raining!) and we were busy trying to make sure that they were dry. But we had a call to make, considering that the rain wasn’t going to stop!
