Yesterday was Ganesh Chaturthi… one of the most celebrated festival of the Hindus.

Celebrated with awe inspiring splendor, its simply a beautiful and probably the most interactive festival on the calender. The festival during the time of Independence struggle was also helpful in uniting people. Mumbai is famous and for its Ganesh festival.

The custom involves drowning an idol of Ganesh made of mud in a well, lake or ocean. Its celebrated over many days and the foods prepared exclusively for this festival are delicious.

There is a belief amoung hindus that looking at the moon on this day(Ganesh Chaturthi) will bring bad luck. So no star gazing on this day :D.
