Mangal Pandey-The Rising… A Review

1857 the year of the first war of independence… To be fair before watching this movie, most of my knowledge about this period was bleak.

Firstly the movie is not another Lagaan… I wish it was but it simply isnt. The magic of Lagaan was that every moment of the film was perfectly crafted to lead to the finale. The bad part of “The Rising” is simply that the first half is more like a prequel to the movie that is the second half.

Amisha and Rani only play second fiddle to the Amir and Toby. The second half is spectacular to watch and for the first time I my life, I was amazed to watch a crowd clap at the interval.

Thats exactly how the movie shaped up… it had moments and then some moments. I guess its important to watch such a movie to remember that our freedom came at a cost… Its nice to be reminded once in a while i guess.

The soundtrack was good but the movie packed too many songs… I personally felt. Fact or Fiction the movie is a must watch.

So go ahead book tickets and catch the movie its worth the money.
