Thanks for all the sweet comments for the photos from my recent trip. This time while sorting out the pictures I realized that there were some photos with a story of their own to say and some that I totally loved taking. So I separated out these photos and will be posting them in the next couple of days… This is the first of the set.

Belwadi – In Pictures
Belwadi is a small village in the out skirts of Halebeedu. Almost forgotten in the shade of its world famous neighbor Belwadi boasts of one of the most beautiful and serene Hoysala Temple Complexes. I have been to Halebeedu (and Belur) dozens of times since childhood but this was only my second visit to Belwadi (and first armed with a camera).
For me, the hour or so spent in the temple complex was the best time of the trip. Every inch of the complex was simply breathtaking and the fact that we were the only tourists at the place at that time allowed us to have a very leisure view of the beautiful temple.
Shringeri – In Pictures…
We spent an afternoon at Shringeri during our four day trip to Chikkamagaluru. Interestingly that day also was the annual Rath Yatra of the matha. The festival is very colorful and celebrated in a grand scale. I managed to capture a few pictures of the crowd and the festivities…
Kemmangundi – In Pictures
After Mullayanagiri we headed on the second day to Kemmangundi and the beautiful Hebbe Falls. We had to drive for part of the way and trek the last kilometer or so.
This was also my first encounter with Leeches. I was compartitively lucky as the leeches seemed to have avoided me but my co-travellers werent that lucky. In the end the waterfalls was a welcome relief to us all.
Diwali 08 – In Pictures
Every Diwali for the past 4 years I have dedicated a little time to watch and photograph fireworks from my terrace. This year I could only manage to do it for one evening at home and a few minutes at a friend’s place. Hope you enjoy the few good photos I managed :)
