Chapter Two…

chapter two

We had decided to catch this play yesterday at Rangashankara and considering I always saw plays on weekdays I was not prepared for the rush that happens on sundays… Swetha and I arrived to the theater about an hour before the play and realized that we had very little chances of getting the tickets. They were only giving tickets to ppl who had booked earlier and we put down our name in the waiting list in case someone cancelled or did not show up… About 30 min later we waited in bated breath for our name to be called, many had not showed up to collect their tickets. We were one of the last to get the tickets and boy was the tension worth it :P.

The play was arguably one of the best plays I hv ever seen. “Chapter Two” was produced by Evam and is the story of Two people one a recent widower and the other a recent divorcee who find love “again”.

The brilliance of the play was not just the acting which was flawless(so good it attracted a standing ovation after the performance) it was the innovation and the magic they created… There were parts where they used a member carefully placed in the audience to shot timelines(things like “2 weeks later” etc.). The sudden darkness on the stage and the spotlight switching to the member in the audience was clearly applauded.

Sakleshpur Yedakumeri Trek

Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.

The last 2 days have been one of the most exciting in my life… 35 of us mostly strangers to each other took part in the Sakleshpur Yedakumeri Trek which was physically and mentally demanding on all of us… Some took a detour half way(including me) and some braved the entire journey but all in all we had the time of our lives and not to mention the bonding and coming together to help each other…

The Festival of Colours…

The Full Gang

Today was “Holi”, the Indian festival of colours… I had absolutely no expectations of the day coz I had never ever played holi but all that changed in the evening. First Anant appears from nowhere all covered in gulal(coloured powder) and threatened to cover us in colour right at our places if we did not come out and play… Guess what we went out and had a blast…

We played for like 15 min and that was totally special for me… We were covered with red and blue all over our faces and hair… Theju and Preethi hv explained the event beautifully in their blogs.

I returned home early to take a bath and had a few things I had to get done but I got this call from Arpit who ocassionally drops in, he said he wanted some software off the net immediately… I msg him back saying that I am covered with colors and will take a bath and he can then come and take it. When he arrived I had just finished my bath a few min ago and had put on clean clothes… He was covered in gulal

Crash – A Review

Rating: *****
(Lowest: * Highest: *****)

From the starting credits to the last frame of this movie only one thing is certian… “its a masterpiece”. The oscar winner for Best Screenplay and Best Movie is definately the movie of the year and probably one of the best movies I hv seen ever.

It’s the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We’re always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something.

Take every idea you have about Racism and put it in a bottle before you watch this movie… everything you believe is Racism is going to take a serious hit after you experience this movie(my opinions surely did). The master piece created by multiple oscar winner Paul Haggis has an ensemble to make any producer proud… With names like Karina Arroyave, Dato Bakhtadze , Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Art Chudabala, Sean Cory, Tony Danza, Keith David, Loretta Devine and Matt Dillon you just cant go wrong…
