An Year On…

Its days like these that make me pensive (no I am not pensive all the time like some people think I am). In a few short hours the Earth would have completed 24 trips around the sun since the day I was born…

I look around me and wonder what I should be doing, no not in the thought that I have nothing to do right now but more with the outlook that a year back I was in this same place, so what has changed? Ironically I remember very well what I did that day. So well infact that its what is adding to the current restlessness.

Compliments…

Me: I cant believe you couldn’t wait for 15 min…
Her: I had to leave, I would have stayed if I could… Besides I watched the play didn’t I.
Me: How do I know if you did? You weren’t there at the end…
Her: (Raising her eyebrows) So now I have to prove that I was there…
Me: So what did you think of it?
Her: Pretty good stuff. I liked your co actors they were real good…

Slowing down…

Last couple of weeks have been the most hectic weeks of my life. The fact that I have made only one blog post in the last 10 days is a clear indication of that :P Anyway the storm is over and I am happy to report that things went along very well. There was a … Read more

Romantic Stories…

She was nibbling at her Blueberry muffin and all of a sudden said “I have been thinking of this theory”
The expression my face must have been pretty good, coz she looked at it only for a second before staring at beautiful weather outside… She continued “About how the favorite romantic movies of people can tell you about how they fantasize on meeting the person they will fall in love with.”

Her: Ok, if you are doing that we will talk about something else… What do you want to talk about (sarcastically) Cricket?
Me: (chuckling to myself) Come on I was just kidding. Go ahead tell me about your theory…

The Day The Show Went On…

There are a few things in my life that I am absolutely proud of achieving. Yesterday that list got one more line added below it.

When we started the day all of us were crossing our fingers for the rain to stay away. There was nothing left to chance, every prop, costume, furniture was checked and double checked. It was an evening that was a month and a half in the making, not to mention a stressful last couple of weeks. The guest list was long and the actors were very nervous(Well dah!)

It was around 5 pm that the first signs hit us. The past week or so had seen short heavy showers in the evening everyday. Since we were performing on an open air stage we were hopeful that the rain would either keep away or make a splash and dash :P

By 5:30 pm the rain was heavy and consistent. Many among us cheered the early rain, as the show was scheduled for 7:30 pm and we were hopeful for the rain to be done by 6:30 pm. That was going to be the second disappointment of the day.

By 7:30 there was a decent sized audience(large if you consider it was raining!) and we were busy trying to make sure that they were dry. But we had a call to make, considering that the rain wasn’t going to stop!
