My Sleep Habits…

Exactly what I feel :P… But in the opposite way :D

A few months back I made a strict decision and changed my sleeping habits. Back in college I would go to sleep around 1 am everyday, most of the time between 9 and 1 spent on the net/watching a movie ect. The amount of sleep was managable and I made sure I made up some sleep in the weekend (I need a decent number of hours of sleep each day otherwise I just cant get anything done).

This system began to fail once I got busy in weekends… the little loss of sleep carried over and I spent most of the day yawning :P. Thats when I decided to change… I now regularly sleep by 10:30 – 11 and am up by 6 am. This system is really good coz there is so much more stuff you can get done at the wee hours of the morning. Plus I spend almost 10-12 hrs during the day on the net and the night time surfing was not really necessary :P.

Lot of ppl(some of my close friends too) think its not cool to sleep early and wake up early. Frankly they are partially right… some of the stuff happening late in the evening is clearly fun and I do miss a lot of that. But waking up early is one of the best things in my day and even if for one day I wake up to realize its 8 am the first thing that comes to my mind is “Damn I just missed the best part of the day.”

Leonardo Da Vinci it is said slept for 15 min every few hours… It made him fresh and he could continue his work. This availability of time is one of the reasons why he was so versatile and succeded in many fields of science and art. I am considering changing my sleep habits again and probably waking up at around 5:30 am… my final goal being 4:30 am. I find the morning hours stimulative and a breath of morning air can charge up my body like nothing else.

PS: An year back I thought waking up at 6 am was the toughest thing in the world… Now I feel wierd all day if I am not up by that time :P
