2005 Turkish Grand Prix

The Mc Larens set the inaugral Turkish Grand Prix on fire. Kimi won the race and Montoya took a podium but… it could hv been better.

I wont excuse anyone that calls Alonso lucky. The fact remains:
Kimi race winner (0 mistakes)
Alonso 2nd place (0 mistakes)
Montoya 3rd place (1 mistake atleast)

Montoya lost it trying to lap the Jordan of Tiago Montiero. He spun and reduced his lead to Alonso from 10s to 1.4s. With 2 laps to go to the finish he ran wide at the now infamous “turn 8” and threw away a one two for Mc Laren. Again during the whole fiasco Alonso kept his car on the road and lapped people with minimum hussel.

Now Renault have a 9 point lead over Mc Laren which is decent by a long way. Alonso has a 24 point lead over Kimi. Kimi might as well kiss of the championship good bye coz even though he can win races he cant do much to stop Alonso from making it to the podium which the Spaniard, this season can do even when he is asleep.

The Constructors is a bit more open. A wise man would bet on Mc Laren, but the fact remains the Renaults are far too relaiable than the Mc Larens. and even one goofup in the remaining 5 races can crown the French outfit the champs.

Over to Imola… The scarlet country, the Tifosi will be there but will the Ferraris be there in contention. The track is a Reanult helper but will the best car in the field help Kimi to his first ever hat-trick. Remember Nurbergring, Kimi was one lap away from a hatrick but his suspension gave way. Well one thing seems to be certian that if Mc Laren goof up again (ie, dont tighten the screws or decide to keep a race leader out with a flat spot) and Alonso wins… he will be termed lucky again…
