Bought a 1 TB hard disk over the weekend :) Most of my media(Movies/Tv Show/Photos) are on Dvds and despite lots of warnings by friends I ignored the fact that DVDs have a life expectancy… Only when I picked up one of the old Dvds and struggled to get the data out I realized it simply made sense to get a huge hard disk.
One thing I have learnt from experience is that larger the space the more trash you store. So I have decided to make clear ground rules for the newly acquired space.
a) Only media that I have already watched goes into it (I end up piling a lot of movies I will never watch thanks to the unlimited bandwidth at home :P )
b) Only Photos/Movies/Tv Shows go on the new disk.
Lets see if those rules help :P
The new hard disk is also a great boon for my media center plans. Now I can organize the content within the same space and that even helps XBMC to pick up the content without any problem. Even my old photos can now be easily organized. The only problem now is the effort of organizing everything :P
