2005 Brazillian Grand Prix Review – Montoya wins, Alonso Crowned Champion

Fernando Alonso became the youngest Champion in History at the 2005 Brazillian Grand Prix. The Emotional Spaniard took 3rd after a spectacular Mc Laren 1-2. No body could deny the youngest Champion who through out the season outdrove, outclassed and outlasted everyone of his competitors.

Alonso was first into the first corner but an accident in the back of the grid forced the safety car onto the track. The restart favoured the Columbian and he overtook a cautious Renault. The rest of the race was more of a formality for the Spaniard who fought till the end. Kimi looked good for P1 but impressive driving by Montoya denied him the glory.

Juan with this victory dropped his classic name of “one win Juan” winning 2 races this season. Mc Laren also exorcised its demons by taking the first 1-2 in 5years. But still the day clearly belonged to Alonso who answered the question everyone wanted an answer for…

who would eventually succeed Michael Schumacher as world champion

Now we have the definitive answer – Fernando Alonso.
