I finally finished watching 5 seasons of ALIAS. The show that started out as an espionage saga of a double agent is to date one of the best action/drama series I have watched.
I still remember the time I used to wait for Friday evenings to catch the new episode of the show on Axn (India). This was only the second tv series that I had chosen to follow after The X Files. There have been many shows that followed this that were as good if not better in edge of the seat entertainment (24 is the one that comes most recommended) but I havent had the time (and mood) to give them a try (yet ;) ).
The show runs for 5 seasons, with the first 3 being very true to the original conception. Season 4 was at best average with the writers probably trying too hard to keep the pace and the excitement. Fortunately the final season had a little bit of the magic of the first couple of seasons, the last few episodes gave the same feeling that had once driven me to not miss the next episode.
Considering the number of Emmy awards and nominations for the series and its actors. Plus the fact that this was the show that shot Jennifer Garner to fame, I would recommend you to give this show a watch.
Ps: Oddly as I was reading the Wikipedia entry of the show I realized that this show was actually created by J. J. Abrams, who also created Lost! No wonder I loved the show :P
Pps: The subject of this post is a symbol the occurs and reoccurs right thru the series.
