Story of a Painting…

Once a group of painters wanted to create a painting. So they set about a journey to make the painting… they contemplated for hours on what the painting should be about and finally decided on one idea that encapsulated all their ideas.

The worked for days to make the painting and once they had decided that it was worth showing to people whose opinion that matter, they let those people see what they were making. There were many suggestions and it got the painters thinking. They realized that the painting could be better and incoperated those changes. Each and everyone they showed it to made valid suggestions and very soon almost all of it was becoming a part of the painting…

What they did not realize was that each and everyone suggesting the changes were making the painting fit in a frame of their choice and the paint on their walls. What they forgot was that their painting did not need a fancy frame or a beautiful wall… the painting must not be made for the frame but the frame for the painting…

Down this path there were only two possible endings… One, that the painting never gets made… a painting that is made for all frames is a pretty tough goal to achieve. The other possible ending is that the painting does get made and fits most frames… The painting will be loved and celebrated but each frame it adorns will think its what is making the painting beautiful… when its the painters insight that made it wonderful.

What the painters did not realize was that they had gone past the best painting a long time ago… they had ignored it as faulty as the magenta in the corner was not someone’s favorite color and they believed that fixing that would make it perfect… But a thousand fixes later they will be further away from perfect than they started with.

Painting you see are not made to suit someone, thats why we have frames and paint for our walls.
