Top 5 reasons why Ferrari failed this season…

The Scuderia has tripped up this season. After dominating most of 2004, they have fallen face first into the worst series of results in recent history. Save the tainted American Grand Prix never this season both the scarlet cars managed a decent result.

I frantically searched for 5 different reasons but could only find these 2

2) Tyres:
Ferrari have made it clear more than once that Bridgestone might just be the reason they have failed this season. I am not tyre expert but there seems to be a clear demarkation between the Michelin and the Bridgestone runners both in on track pace which translates to the most important word in F1 “RESULTS”.

1) Overconfidence:
Yes, they were overconfident. They started the season with the 2004 spec car and expected to win like they did in 2003. The overlooked one small detail, “there were rule changes”. The scarlet cars limped through many races untill their 05 spec car came. The problem by then was that the other teams had gotten way ahead.

Leaving Michael’s brilliance in Imola and the forgetable US GP there is nothing much Ferrari got this season. With Barrichello leaving and talks of MSc retiring in 07… its sad to admit it but the future of the Scuderia seems to be headed to the Dark Ages.
