Bollywood magic – Part 1, Songs

2 weeks ago Times of India had an article on the Sunday Times supplement “Life”. I have a vague recollection of the article but it was simply a list of the 25 best soundtarcks in the last 25 years.

It was a nice article and it got me thinking. This multi part entry is a few thoughts I hv about the good stuff in bollywood. Why multipart? well one entry was definately not justice and no body wants to read pages at a time.

This entry is about the exact same article and my top 5 best soundtracks in the last 25 years

The list in the article contained the following:

Ashiqui, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,
Dil se, Hum Aapke Hai Kaun,
Qyamat se Qyamat Taq, Laagan,
Taal, Dil Chaata Hai,
Devdas, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Rangeela, Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham
Dil Toh Paagal Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho

(Excuse the spellings)

The list is the names i remember from the article, forgive me if I forgot ur fav soundtrack… drop it in the comments.

Now my top 5 from the above:

1) Ashiqui :
Handsdown the best Soundtrack i hv ever listened to. Kunal Ghanjawala of the “Bheegay hoth” fame, in an interview once refered to how Ashiqui changed Jatin-Lalit’s life and said that his life was changed too after “Murder”. If you hv never lisened to Ashiqui you hv definately missed something…

2) DDLJ :
Thuje Dheka… the song is one of my all time favourites and this sound track is foot tapper any day of the week

HAHK, Dil Chaata Hai and KKHH
I dont know what i can say bout these but just that I hv listened to them a million times :)

I hv always been a fan of bollywood songs. Even though i prefer song less movies :D.
