I find Ants terribly fascinating. Their variety, numbers, behavior etc make it one of the most seemingly alien like living things on earth.

For starters they were around from the times of the dinosaurs. They literally are the kings of this planet, there are found in almost every land mass and constitute the largest chunk of biomass wrt animals on this planet. Certain species are parasitic and some even indulge in slavery of other species. Compared to the few billion humans, estimates are there are 10¹⁶ individual ants on the earth and they have hive mentality

Frankly I don’t understand why people are more scared of roaches and spiders than ants.
