V for Vendetta is probably one of the best movies so far this year… The futuristic sci-fi thriller tells the story of a totalitarian Britain set way into the future. Changes in the political scenario shows a fragile America and a powerful Britain. The movie shows the ultimate fight against corruption and for freedom.
V brilliantly played by Hugo Weaving(U actually never get to see his face in the movie) and Natalie Portman who plays Evey to perfection hold the whole film together and the final product is awe inspiring. The Wachowski Brothers had written the screenplay for this film before The Matrix and there are clear similarities between the action sequences of both movies.
The story and screenplay are very good and Aj actually pointed out that this movie did justice to the comic(I hv never read the comic so cant say in this regard). Natalie Portman performance was just too amazing… Lets see if she can register an Oscar nomination with this performance.
So is this movie worth watching… well if you like action movies and have an appetite for a complex thriller which can make your day, then this is right down your alley. I had a great time catching this movie and trust me you are better off watching this on the big screen.
