5. Delhi 6 – Blaaze, Benny Dayal, Vivinenne Pocha, Tanvi Shah, Claire – Delhi 6
Delhi 6 is peppered with Rehman’s magic and the title song is probably one of the most innovative songs of 09. With part of the lyrics in French, this is one experiment that worked exquisitely.

4. Man Ko Ati Bhavey – Shankar Mahadevan – London Dreams
This was another impressively innovative song in 09. Shankar Mahadevan out does himself in producing the magic in this fast and beautifully written song.

3. Tu Jaane Na – Atif Aslam – Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani
Easily the most touching song of 09, has Atif Aslam’s beautiful vocals to the lyrics of Irshad Kamil & Ashish Pandit. The song talks about the love never revealed… A true tear jerker.

2. Chor Bazaari – Neeraj Sridhar & Sunidhi Chauhan – Love Aaj Kal
Chor Bazaari is the most innovative song of 09. In a year where lyricists werent scared to try something different, Chor Bazaari was a dive into unknown territory. A song about breakup that is fast peppy and fun, Lyricist Irshad Kamil totally nailed it. With a very western feel to the music and zang of Neeraj Sridar and Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice, its hardly a surprise that this was the most popular song of 09.

1. Tune Jo Na Kaha – Mohit Chauhan – New York
My favorite song of 09 is a slow and beautiful song from New York. Sandeep Shrivastava’s song is about being face to face with lost love, the resurgence of emotions that took ages to get over and confusion of love and happiness. The song is beautiful beyond words and each stanza written with so much love that it touches the heart. Mohit Chauhan thanks to this song is my artist of the year. His work in Kaminey(Pehli Baar Mohabbat), Love Aaj Kal(Dooriyan) & Delhi 6(Masakali) makes it a very easy choice :)
