Must Love Dogs… A Review

Must love dogs is a sweet romatic comedy. The reason I say this is coz it did not have me rolling down with laughter not did it bring tears to my eyes but I definately made me smile. This one of the old type romantic comedies… I wont dare to compare it with “Sleepless in Seattle” or its kind but it looks like the kind of movie made at that time and I love that in this flick.

Diane Lane and John Cusack play two divorcees who are trying to get back in the dating game. Both feel they are not “fit” enuf to play but their friends and relatives are hell bent to help them. They endup meeting thanks to an online dating service(whose name is mentioned more than once… do I smell in movie advertising).

Her online profile is as any online ad would sound for the exception for one extra line that basically says “Must Love Dogs”… (My kinda girl :) ). This catches John’s attention and what follows is a series of funny dates. Add to this a crush of hers showing up when she does not want him and saying stuff she wants to be told but not at that moment. The movie, summed up is a fun movie that is not oscar worthy but definately one evening’s worth :)

Diane Lane is great but this kindof movie hardly showcases her acting talents. If you want to truly admire her watch “Unfaithful”… John Cusack is great as usual and this movie reminds me of his acting in “Serendipity”. He is not the heart of the film but some of his dialouges in the movie are really well written.

I picked up this movie frankly coz I love Dogs and Movie even though it did not impress it definately did not depress me :)
