Singapore in Images…

View from the sea

The next stop in my two week vacation in South East Asia was Singapore. I had heard a lot about Singapore from when I was a kid but the most exciting feature of the country that I was looking forward to see had just been added to the beautiful city just a year or so ago :)

From Kuala Lumpur, we were driven to Singapore along a scenic route. The long drive was simply beautiful and driving at top speed was an experience I wont forget in a hurry.
All geared up for the Chinese New Year Rat brings in the Bull
As we entered the city, it was clearly evident that everyone was celebrating the Chinese new year. Red was all over the place.

I love Chinese art :)

Our next stop was a artistic Chinese Temple. I am a huge fan of Chinese architecture… Totally love their fascination for dragons and the color red :)

Last year Singapore hosted the first ever night race in Formula One. If that wasnt good enough, it was the race that turned the fortunes of my favorite Driver on the grid. As we drove through the city we went past the pits and parts of the circuit used in the race. This was the closest I have been ever near my favorite sport and it felt great :)

Lights for the Formula One Race :)

The next stop was near the Singapore bay. Surrounded by symbols of the great city left me in a dilemma on where to point my camera next :)

The Singapore Flyer The Explande Flyer again

The next program on our schedule was a boat ride near the Singapore Bay. One thing that stuck me was the number of bridges and their designs.

The New Parliment House and the flying saucer shaped court house The MerLion Walking below the bridges Statue of Thomas Stanford Raffles Statues depicting the earlier times at the port Pretty awesome stuff actually Bridges galore near the Singapore bay img_7569 Old Parliment building img_7622

As the night approached the buildings around the bay area lit up. The photos dont do justice to the sight that met our eyes…

The buildings lit up during the evening Each bridge was beautifully lit up The view is simply breathtaking
