My Clone images

After being inspired by Flickr I decided to try out a few tricks on my camera. The photos were all taken between 11 and 12 in the night and the editing of the images took about 45 mins. My Sony Ericsson k750i was used for the photos and leaving the timer feature no other feature was used. I dont have a tripod hence had to balance my camera on my book shelf, start timer and once the photo was done run back each time to restart the cycle

The first one looks good but its easy to notice the color difference of the wall . I tried my level best to fix every thing by copy and paste (There was never any adjustment to the brightness, contrast and gamma of the image) MS Paint was used for it totally. I realized by this image that its important to take many photos in a short period of time.

I am very particular about it but I dont “photoshop” any of my photos. I try my best with what i can get out at that moment and just pick the best pic. This is the first time I have modified my photos and even in that it only involved cutting parts of one image onto another.

The second one is more cleaner and I even tried a bit of acting :P. Its fun to give poses and as you can see I was aware of my poses. I look goofy in most of the photos but they turned out fine and that was my goal. Notice how the shadows look perfect… It took me a lot of trouble to get it like that… cutting small parts of the image to get the shadow perfect.

The third one is my best. Lots of variants and particularly simple to make in the end. It took sometime to get the close up shot but the rest was all one attempt. As a matter of fact almost all other shots were single time poses. It slowly became irritating to run back and restart the timer :P.

How did I make these photos ?

1) Firstly you need a static background. Indoors is best but outdoors has a better effect. Once you have the environment ready get a place to keep your camera undisturbed.
2) Make sure you test out the timer feature of the camera once to know how much time you will get.(In case you dont have someone there to click it for you)
3) Plan ur poses and just remember that managing shadows is the toughest. Had a lot of probs with the shadows with the second snap.
4) Use a photo editor to cut and paste the images one over the other. It takes practice but in 30 mins you can be a pro at it.

Do tell me in the comments if you have taken such photos, I would love to see them. I definately did not invent this art but it felt great doing it :).
