Guzaarish (2010) - IMDb

Hrithik Roshan's acting is the only saving grace of this film. Very slow and boring in parts.

Strangers on a Train (1951) - IMDb
4.5/5
The story of a perfect murder is always enticing but what is magnificent is the brilliant direction by the master. A psychotic socialite has a plan to commit a murder and get away with it, the idea: to swap murders and hence kill someone without motive. As he tries to execute his plan an innocent tennis player is forced to become his accomplice. Dont miss how this movie unfolds!

Dabangg (2010) - IMDb
3.5/5
A brilliant performance by Salman Khan is what keeps this movie together. Based on a weak script and seemingly meaningless characters, Dabangg's comedy is what is worth checking out.

Satya (1998)

Considered by many as one of the best indian movies ever made Satya is look into the underworld of Mumbai. The story of a innocent newcomer to the city who goes on to become the right hand man of one of the city's most feared gangster is both revealing and depressing.

I Confess (1953)

One of Hitchcocks sober thrillers, I Confess, is an emotional thriller about a priest who hears the confession of a murderer and is taken as the prime suspect for the same. The ethical turmoil is handled brilliantly and portrayed to perfection. A must watch.

A poor adaptation of 21 taking away the thrill of the game and making it all about blackmail and deception. Total waste of time, despite a good performance by the big B and Ben Kingsley

The Brothers Bloom (2008)

Well executed con movies are my favourites and The Brothers Bloom is one of the best in the genre. The cons and the story flows beautifully with the movie. The climax is well written with hints and duality right thru the movie, a must watch.

Kites (2010/I)
3.5/5
There are moments in Kites that make you go ‘wow’ and similarly there are moments where you wonder what the writer was smoking, but thats where the balance was struck. Kites is truly unique in what it tried to achieve and for that the writers & director must be commended. They could have taken the movie in atypical Bollywood fashion but they dared to bend the rules and that must be truly understood.

The screenplay is what ruins this movie, the writers for some reason choose to be overly conservative. They even resorted to the old mantra of ‘turning a leaf’ and ‘doing the right thing’. The cons which were the heart and soul of a movie of this type are too frivolous…
