I have been GeoCoding most of the pictures I take lately. Almost all the photos taken during trips are geocoded thanks to the Garmin eTrex Legend and kUbuntu’s gpsbabel and digiKam apps.
Once I geocode the info onto the pictures they become a part of the EXIF information of the photos. Google’s Picasa Web Albums simply reads the info and places the photos on the map. Flickr on the other hand reads the info and just ignores it!
Check the exif info of this photo. The GPS info is right there and yet Flickr expects me to “map” the image manually by opening up another link and selecting the location on the map! How hard can it be to really update the info from the image directly?
