Ocean’s Thirteen – Movie Review

[rating:5/5]

A little popcorn + A soda + A Steven Soderbergh movie = A Awesome Saturday Afternoon! Ocean’s Thirteen(OT) is hands down the best third movie I have watched so far(note have to watch Shrek still). How good was it? Well simply put, on a scale of 1 to 100 where 1 being Ocean’s Twelve and 100 being Ocean’s 11, OT is 99.99999… Yep that good!

Steven Soderbergh has been my favorite director from the moment I watched Traffic(I consider it a masterpiece) and this movie clearly justified my choice. The camera work, the flow form scene to scent , the brilliant dialouges and the undeniable chemistry that is brought about by only the best make this movie as awesome as it could get. Plus the robbery is pretty cool too… take your eyes off the plot for a second and you will be scraching your head as to what just happened :)

Story and screenplay was perfect for the naked eye, there may be a few minor flaws here and there but frankly you would not even notice it. The comedy was subtle and brilliantly placed… I was ROFWL when one of the guys went “Wanted in 34 states and will be wanted in the remaining 34 soon… er… 22!”

Acting wise this movie I felt belonged to Matt Damon. The lad clearly had a much bigger role in this one and that added to the charm of the movie. The star power looked overloaded but the balance was so well done that you are looking at Al Pacino, Andy Garcia, George Clooney and Brad Pitt in the god damn same frame!

All in all a brilliant movie that should not be missed.
