I had the pleasure of catching Rocky yesterday. The story written by Stallone about the “Italian Stallion” Rocky Balboa who gets a one in a lifetime shot at the world champion. This is one of those movies you watch and you realize that its going to stay with you.
Rocky is this small time boxer who collects debts. The movie moves slowly initially, as we get used to daily routine… again here the class of the screenplay is shown. Characters are introduced quickly but well enough that they stay in the back of your mind. The movie’s plot unfolds to a spectacular climax. The ending was pretty drastic in my opinion but hey, between me and Sly he is the one with the oscar :).
This movie in quality of story telling ranks on the top for me right there with The Matrix, Good Will Hunting and Forrest Gump. I plan to watch the remaining 4 of the 5 part classic in the weeks to follow.
