New Sense

Pretty Eyes and Coffee boy…

Their eyes met in an instant and then on they were both aware of each other’s presence. They sat about 10 feet away facing each other, a distance small enough that he could tell the shade of color in her eyes and a distance large enough to fit 10 people between them and at the first opportunity 10 ppl jumped in.

Coffee boy(for the lack of a better name) tried to ignore the glances but he failed miserably, every word he said, every action he made, he now saw it from the eyes of someone sitting 10 feet away facing him. Pretty Eyes(for obvious reasons) was not a silent passenger in the ride, she was now wondering about the gorgeous girls at CB’s table.

The 30 odd min they shared was so much like hide and seek at times. One would hide their head behind a friend who sat almost opposite and wait for the others eyes to come searching… it always did. The way CB drank his coffee was odd that day, it always bought his eyes at a perfect angle to catch a glimpse. But alas each glance was just that or something shorter. Every time their eyes met it was like two swords engaged in battle, every touch for a fraction of a second…

Soon it was time for CB to leave, the momentary relief from the sword fight was bitter welcome change and he embraced it without thought. PE’s heart was racing now and desperate situations needed desperate measures… He spent a few seconds lingering in the coffee shop before he walked out off the door. PE’s choice of method to keep him there was perfect but it was a fraction too late.

As CB drove back home that day he tried to recreate PE’s face in his mind. He failed and very miserably too, all he remembered was her eyes and nothing else. In those numerous glances he got he could not get past her eyes…

PE sat there for a while longer, smiling at the right moments at her friends so as to not arose any suspicion of what was running in her mind. But every few seconds her eyes reached out to last place she saw CB, hoping against hope that he had left something behind… She stepped out of the shop and her eyes searched the street for CB but he was gone. As she went to sleep that night she wondered if co incidence is just a fancy name given to fate or that she was so naive that a few glances had now stolen her precious thoughts…

As CB rested his eyes he wondered if every ounce of inspiration running in his blood right now was derived from those eyes and if he would ever lay his eyes on his muse again.
