New Sense

Stepping Away from LJ…

I have been maintaining two versions of my blog for the past five years. One ran on Livejournal and the other on WordPress. Both the blogs contain the same posts and I have been manually cross posting the entries coz I felt it was truly worth the effort.

Livejournal was my first blog and also the first community on the web I truly cherished being a part of. Over the years I have made so many friends here that LJ is clearly a very important part of my life. Interacting with my friends on LJ has helped me in innumerable ways and it was this bond that was the driving force in my idea to keep both blogs alive.

But the last few months have got me thinking about the benefits of maintaining two separate blogs. And after a lot of deliberation I figured it was best that I update only one of my blogs from now on.

Starting with this post my LJ will get updated automatically from my WordPress blog. To keep a single collection of comments I will disable comments on LJ but my LJ friends can feel free to leave comments on my WordPress blog.

I promise to try my level best so as to not cause discomfort to my readers but you will have to bear with me for a little while as i get the hang of all this automation :)

Ps: I will continue to follow all my friends via the Lifejournal friends page, so I will not be quitting Livejournal entirely :)
