Hanging On…

Flower and the drop

Rain, Flowers and Macro are possibly my most favorite combinations when it comes to photography. This photograph was taken during a brief rain shower at a famous tourist spot in Kodagu(Coorg) called “Raja’s Seat“.

This was my third visit to the destination also known as ‘the Scotland of India’ and by far the most rainiest of my visits… Kodagu has a very different feel when visited in different seasons and while the rain meant a little discomfort, it also provided some picturesque moments and a lot of tranquility.

Breaking the Jinx…

2010 has been the worst year wrt trips for me. In the six and half months of the year I have only been to Hampi (during new years) and my only other travel has been to a friend’s engagement & marriage and minor religious trips with family.

So its understandable that I am very excited about my upcoming trip to Coorg. Breaking this unfortunate jinx and getting into the holiday mood is exactly what I have been looking forward to. Also to make things that much sweeter this is going to be my first proper trip with family in ages… With most of my cousins busy with their varying timetables of college and work, we havent been able to string a holiday together in ages.

So I will be off for most of next week, cooling my heels in a nice resort… Am so looking forward to a relaxing few days :)

Under The Bridge

Under The Bridge

One of the biggest highlights of my two day stay in Bangkok was the picturesque boat ride thru the city. The evening was truly magical as we slowly glided past the historic city…

This photo was taken as the boat moved under one of the many bridges on the river. I had to lie down on the Bow of the boat and wait patiently as the boat moved under the bridge. The blur adds to the feeling of motion, one of the things I love about this specific picture.

Smile…

Smile

I’ve never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful. ~Author Unknown

I have an unexplainable connection with Buddhist Monasteries, during my travels I have consistently found peace and solace in the heart of these holy walls. This photo was taken during my first ever visit to a Buddhist Monastery. The monk with the prayer beads and the disarming smile was an obvious choice for the portrait.

In Search Of The Mango…

In Search Of The Mango...

As the sun was setting over the beautiful hills of Hampi, this monkey along with its troop of fellow monkeys sat and waited for tourists to throw them a snack.

This picture was taken on one of the highest points near the main complex of Hampi.

Ps: The title is inspired by mythological story… any guesses to which one?
