The Theorists

The Big Bang Theory

Sounds like a cool name for a show right? Apparently there is a show with that name. The Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre uses vanity cards at the end of every show, they are like really fun blog posts where he scribbles off some of his thoughts. At the end of the latest episode of The Big Bang Theory he writes about a Belorussian version of The Big Bang Theory. (Yeah Belarus is the name a country).

He writes in the card:

Belarus does have a bustling TV production industry. One of their most recent hits is a sitcom about four nerdy scientists who live next door to a beautiful blonde waitress. The characters are named Sheldon, Leo, Hovard, Raj and Natasha, and the show is entitled, The Theorists. Each episode begins with a rapid-fire montage of images which takes us from the dawn of time to the present moment.

Here is a video clipping from the show:

Ps: I have been a big fan of the vanity cards for a while now. You can read them here: http://www.chucklorre.com/

Thyself…

Know thyself and thou shall know all the mysteries of the Gods and of the universe.” That’s quite a mouthful. My version is this: “Know thyself because what else is there to know.” People hide secrets, time is a lie, and the material world can disappear in an instant. It has and it will again. Our identities change, our names, the way we look, how we act and speak. We are shape shifters. There is no control; no constant, no shelter, but the love of family and the body God gave us. And we can only hope that it will always be enough.

Yes, I am now a fan of the Chronicles

<O>

I finally finished watching 5 seasons of ALIAS. The show that started out as an espionage saga of a double agent is to date one of the best action/drama series I have watched.

I still remember the time I used to wait for Friday evenings to catch the new episode of the show on Axn (India). This was only the second tv series that I had chosen to follow after The X Files. There have been many shows that followed this that were as good if not better in edge of the seat entertainment (24 is the one that comes most recommended) but I havent had the time (and mood) to give them a try (yet ;) ).

The show runs for 5 seasons, with the first 3 being very true to the original conception. Season 4 was at best average with the writers probably trying too hard to keep the pace and the excitement. Fortunately the final season had a little bit of the magic of the first couple of seasons, the last few episodes gave the same feeling that had once driven me to not miss the next episode.

Considering the number of Emmy awards and nominations for the series and its actors. Plus the fact that this was the show that shot Jennifer Garner to fame, I would recommend you to give this show a watch.

Ps: Oddly as I was reading the Wikipedia entry of the show I realized that this show was actually created by J. J. Abrams, who also created Lost! No wonder I loved the show :P

Pps: The subject of this post is a symbol the occurs and reoccurs right thru the series.

Tyme Travel?

The third season of Heroes has been a big disappointment in my opinion. Its not the story or the characters entirely(though they are not perfect either) but more to do with the lack of quite simply logic in some parts. I understand the show is a Sci-Fic show but some things are simply beyond explanation.
