As the sun was setting over the beautiful hills of Hampi, this monkey along with its troop of fellow monkeys sat and waited for tourists to throw them a snack.

This picture was taken on one of the highest points near the main complex of Hampi.

Diwali ‘09 in Pictures…

This Diwali was made special by two awesome celebrations. One at midnight on the eve of Diwali and the another on the last day.

I wasnt exactly prepared for the first celebration and that meant that I dont have any photos from that day. But that evening we were far away from the city at a friends place on his birthday. My friends and I went nuts with hardly another soul awake for miles :)

Finding Perspective…

Sunset at Muzhappilangad Beach

My last weekend’s trip to Kannur in Kerala was one of my most awaited trips. It had been almost 3 months since my trip to SE Asia and I clearly wanted to get away from the hustle bustle of the city and break away from monotonous routine that had crept in.

This trip for me was all about finding perspective and looking at things that were important without the unwanted noise bothering my thoughts. In ways this trip worked out much better than I expected it to. I throughly enjoyed the quality time I got to spend with my pals and despite the intense heat I totally loved the places we saw.

How could a ‘Slumdog’ win so much?

That seems to be the question on the minds of a lot of people. I have heard people calling the movie “overrated”, saying that “Rehman has made better music”, “there weren’t enough nominees”, “would it have won the oscar if an Indian had done it” and questioning the “depiction of India”.

Honestly I am not normally bothered by opinions. I accept that its just another opinion and as important as mine and move on. But in this case I find the arguments ‘unconvincing’(I am putting it mildly to avoid insulting anyone). Now lets examine each of the arguments…
