A couple of weeks back I had been on a 4 day trip to Chikkamagaluru , Mullayanagiri, Kemmangundi, Shringeri and Belwadi. The trip was one of the most scenic I have been a part of… the beauty and greenery was the kind I had till then only seen on pictures or film.
I took over 750 photos over the 4 day period(which is a huge number for me). I will be posting some of my favorites in batches here.
We start off with ‘Mullayanagiri’ the highest peak in Karnataka. It is located in the Baba Budan Giri Range of the Western Ghats. October seemed like a perfect time to go there, the mist and the cool winds gives you a irreplaceable feeling of oneness with nature.
Most of the images are geotagged, you can check out the map here

There are a few people I know who have this uncanny ability to get secrets out of me. The surprising part is that most of the time I just volunteer to give it to them. Now these are secrets that other people beg and plead to be told… Secrets that have never been told on my blog coz in some levels they are very dear to me.
I am still trying to figure out why I reveal the cards held so close to my chest to these specific people. There should be a pattern somewhere. Oddly they almost never ask about the secrets and when it does come up unaided in a middle of a conversation I just explain it to them. Its after that I realize… Wait a sec I have never spoke about that before
The one thing that is common between them is their observation skills. They almost always observe something that everyone else has missed and always surprise me with very revealing questions… Questions that just cant be ignored. Slowly I guess it becomes a game of give and take… Maybe the fact that I dont meet/talk to these people often is also important. I hardly see them once in a couple of weeks…
Then again maybe everyone has a set of people who can get secrets out of them easily

Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam is one of the nicest surprises I have had all year(in watching movies ie). Firstly I wasnt expecting much from the movie but the promising star cast was looking good. It had Paresh Rawal, Rahul Bose and Kay Kay Menon, three actors whose movies I have truly admired.
The movie is supposedly the remake of a classic Mel Brooks movie “To Be or Not to Be“. This Indian version uses the backdrop of the 93 bomb blasts and produces a hilarious comedy of a bunch of theater artists trying to stop the bad guys.
What I loved about the movie was the brilliantly sketched out characters, who even when saying clinched lines are really funny. The comic twist to Urdu Shayari and on stage improvisation had me running out of breath laughing. I think I was laughing for atleast 80% of the movie!

My second performance on stage was a play involving two other actors and the rehearsals happened to occur during the monsoons. My co-actors(one male and one female) were game to come in for rehearsals even when the heavens were pouring for hours. This happened one such evening when I managed to beat the rain and arrive at the designated place for the rehearsals.
The other male co-actor also arrived partially drenched but when the female lead arrived, she looked like she had been swimming. We offered to cancel the days proceedings considering she looked almost like a fish out of water But she insisted we do the rehearsals as planned and that she would be fine.
It was then that I remembered a song that I really loved and quiet spontaneously sang it for her, hoping to make her feel better.
Ek ladki bheegi bhagi si…
Soti raaton mein jaagi si
Mili ik ajnabi se… Koyi aage na peechhe…
Tum hi kaho ye koyi baat hai…
To my surprise my co-actors joined in and what happened next was one of the most memorable days in Theater

Me: Do you believe in Soulmates?
Her: Yeah… I think there are soulmates for everybody.
Me: So there is one soulmate for everyone in the world?
Her: Yeah, the problem I think is finding them. But what about soulmates.
Me: The concept of soulmates is good but what if soulmates dont occur in pairs.
Her: I don’t understand.
Me: Well, lets say A is the soulmate of B. But what is the guarantee that B will automatically be the soulmate of A
