Life is so ironic… There I was contemplating a post on how few ‘good’ Conversations I have had in a long time(its true and more on that later)… Just then I have this amazing conversation with a friend who is leaving the country… We spoke about a lot of things but its the finale of the conversation that was really special and interesting to me.

A little rewind so that the rest of you can catch up She was one of the few people who knew me before she met me! Ironically that was exactly why I wanted to meet her… She had read my blog/writings/stories and even occasionally commented before we personally met. The reason I wanted to meet her(even though it happened informally) was because she was the only person who could have answered a important question… “Am I true to my writings?”

I cant believe the series is over! It was particularly a dramatic finish… nope not coz of the events in the book(we shall get to that) but the amazing fun it was running around and getting my hands on the book (More on that later… if I get time and the mood to talk about it)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows releases tmrw and the excitement has reached boiling point I have preordered my copy and will be spending better part of the weekend in what JK Rowling calls Harry’s final journey(wonder why )

There have been loads of spoilers and rumors on the web and i have been fortunate enuf not to have been exposed much to them. Someone recently told ‘Did you hear the internet rumors about HP are true…’ and I went ‘Oh cool… I would have been upset if I knew what the rumors were ‘

Anyway had planned this post about the most important moments which would have impacts in Deathly Hollows in books 1-6 but what the heck… nobody will read it coz they dont want even semi spoilers

So heres hoping to have a brilliant Harry Potter weekend…

Harry Potter is back for the fifth installment of the seven part epic by JK Rowling. This time the movie was aimed differently than the Goblet of Fire and it worked… worked very well indeed

The movie is as good as probably a 150min adaptation of a 700 odd page book can get. The writers have concentrated on achieving closure to stories and that has boded well. Before I go into the specifics… “DONT MISS THIS MOVIE” esp if you hated part 4!

(By spoilers I mean how different parts of the book were interpreted and scenes I loved)

Had been yesterday to EVAM’s performance of ‘always look on the bright side of life’ (evam’s tribute to the Pythons)… What was so cool about the event was not the play/performance, that was typical good evam comedy… It was the people at the place that caught my eye… I found at least 10 ppl I did not expect to find there and they ranged from old school mates(ironic coz most dont show up for the reunions we organize), old colleagues(ok I had planned to watch it with them ) and some friends I have not seen in a long time!

Anyway the sketches were ok, I have seen most of the original Python sketches and once you have seen them the repeat value is not spectacular but I did enjoy a bunch of new sketches that was performed.

After the show grabbed dinner with a couple of friends. At the table Sidharth and Anant decided to introduce the rest to ‘me’ (I think it was more involuntary and probably the drive to pick on someone that caused that ) So very soon they bought up everything I have done(blogging, writing, acting, my company ect) and things I have not done(gained weight, girlfriend, decent acting role ect) It was the best 2 hours I have had in a long time.. I dont know what the audience was thinking but the constant bursts of laughter (on the flip side a few ‘cools’ )

Sidharth did the honor of imitating my posts, he went on to give his version of my blog posts… which obviously was hilarious I think he was trying hard to get back at me coz I have not been able to make time for our podcasts for a month now

Anyway in other news, EVERYBODY is talking about the new Harry Potter movie! My friends page is bombarded with reviews…

I will join you guys soon!

Have tickets to watch it today evening I was least excited about this movie actually, my friends got the tickets and basically msg me if I wanted one and I went ‘Oh when… ok get me one’ I dont regret it now(obviously)

I tried recompiling the 2.6.22 kernel into Kubuntu Feisty in Bliss(I christened her btw) yesterday. I was hoping to get rid of the not working parts of my current install and the ‘Stable’ version did not boot! I must have goofed up somewhere, so for now will stick to the 2.6.15 version. Its working well just that all features of Bliss is not enabled in it . Guess I will solve the problems one at a time

Finally, I most probably will be going for the Bangalore Bloggers Meet next Sat(21). Anant wrote about it a while back… I keep thinking its probably not for me but what the heck its just a few hours and it could be fun (I dont know if they wrote about this in LJ Bangalore… if not I wonder why )
