Interpreting Dreams…

September 11, 2008 11:22 am

For most of my life I did not have dreams when I went to sleep. I would wake up and the night would have been a blank. It was not like I could not remember dreams coz when I would have a dream I would remember pretty good details about it.

Whenever I would have a dream, it turned out to be very important to me. I think its got to do more with my belief that dreams are messages from the subconscious. Considering that I did not have many to work with most often than not I would end up making sense of my dreams and it would almost always give me a better understanding of myself. Some of the biggest realizations of my life have occurred to me while interpreting dreams.

In the past few weeks the number of dreams I am having has been increasing exponentially. Havent been able to pin point the cause of this surge in dreams, maybe its got to do with the crash I had a while back ( It probably shook that part of my brain active :P )

Now the dreams were really intresting, and have gotten me thinking about a lot of things… Nothing too drastic but little nice things about myself and how I feel about people in my life. One more thing it has me doing now is keeping a dream journal.

What is a dream journal?
Well its like a diary where you write about your dreams, whome you interacted with, what you did, where you were, how it ended ect.

Guess I will be doing a lot more web searches with the terms “dream interpretation” from now on :P

Painful Answers…

September 4, 2008 7:19 pm

Spending the last couple of days in pain(ranging from little-ignorable to like a million needles pricking my legs), I was wondering about the whole concept of pain. I know its associated very closely to the nervous system and defense mechanism of the body but what is the theories behind its existence. Why something like pain would have figured in the grand scheme of evolution is a little confusing to me.

So can someone out there shed some light on this? Any papers or studies regarding the topic, even personal opinions are welcome :)

The Truth About Pretty Girls and Decisions…

April 26, 2006 6:36 pm

Imagine this guys… A pretty girl(or a girl you hv crush on) walks upto you and askes you something, its very obvious answer but you just mumble something incoherent(and ur going to regret later for making a fool of yourself).

If you encounter that situation regularly then don’t think too much about it… It turns out:

A glimpse of an alluring woman is all it takes to ruin a man’s decision-making skills and the more testosterone coursing through his veins, the worse the problem gets, claim researchers recently.

I read this article yesterday and just had to blog about it…

So girls if a guy is blabbering incoherent gibberish in front of you its not that he is nuts… he actually likes u :P

Intrestingly it does not work the other way… so if a girl is blabbering incoherent gibberish in front of you… GET THE HELL OUT… she can be a physco for all you know.

The Magic of Numbers…

December 10, 2005 12:19 am

I had the honour of attending a seminar given by Mr. Simon Singh at IISC(Indian Institute of Science) today. Theju, Preethi and Sidharth accompanied me and I want to thank Preethi, coz without her we would have never been at this talk. The talk was about “Risks, Probability and Gambling” at the National Institute of Advanced Studies auditorium.

The talk was simply faboulous. The Gentleman in his brief 45 min lecture explained some of the fasinating facts and occurences in Mathematics. The experience was awakening of sorts to my love for Maths. I still remember that it was my favourite subject in school but somewhere down the line the charm had run out.

He started out explaining probability with a simple game of coin tosses and patterns.
