Merriest Christmas Ever…

December 28, 2007 10:24 pm

Christmas has never been a very special time for me. It would usually involve a nice day off(in the end of December that meant sleeping longer), cakes and watching tv to decorations across the world.

This time around it was different… I worked all day, came home late and crashed on my bed almost immediately.

So what is with the subject of this post? Well my real Christmas happened on the 27th… A few weeks back a bunch of my friends decided to play Secret Santa… We met up on the 27th and had a little party and the unveiling of the gifts… The whole experience was just fabulous and I totally loved the gifts my secret santa got me :)

To add to the chrismassy spirit, my close friend from the US pinged me today and during the conversation told me about his christmas gift to me(which I should be seeing in a few days)! Which again had me pleasantly surprised :)

Thanks a ton guys for the fun party… Angel of course for organizing the ‘event’… I know how much you had to struggle to synchronize it ;) Thank you Madhu for the gifts, Like I told you when i opened your gifts… You made my year, my dear :) Hem thanks again for being so nice :)

October 21, 2006 7:56 pm

Decided to celebrate a Green Diwali this time so no crackers… Just realized its so much more fun to just watch people enjoying the festival of lights.

Took a lot of snaps of fireworks, uploaded a few of them… Few look really different thanks to the exposure time… These are the first pics from my cam(online atleast) :)

The Festival of Colours…

March 15, 2006 11:42 pm
The Full Gang

Today was “Holi”, the Indian festival of colours… I had absolutely no expectations of the day coz I had never ever played holi but all that changed in the evening. First Anant appears from nowhere all covered in gulal(coloured powder) and threatened to cover us in colour right at our places if we did not come out and play… Guess what we went out and had a blast…

We played for like 15 min and that was totally special for me… We were covered with red and blue all over our faces and hair… Theju and Preethi hv explained the event beautifully in their blogs.

I returned home early to take a bath and had a few things I had to get done but I got this call from Arpit who ocassionally drops in, he said he wanted some software off the net immediately… I msg him back saying that I am covered with colors and will take a bath and he can then come and take it. When he arrived I had just finished my bath a few min ago and had put on clean clothes… He was covered in gulal

An Atheist’s visit to a temple

January 6, 2006 7:03 pm

I bet nobody would have guessed a few weeks ago where my new year’s eve would be spent. I guess no temple has been the same to me after my beliefs changed. I was and am still open to going to a religious place if it means a lot to someone I care about but going on the new years weekend… well I didnt bargain for that.

The temple was actually an ashram near Thirupati. I dont know how many of you remember my trip to Thirupati a few weeks back… frankly, I actually enjoy trips there. Its not the god part but the amazing beauty of the hilltops and the chill of a cold wind blowing all the time.

We left home base on Saturday(31st December, 2005) at 7am. The plan was to drive around the city and pick up our companions and then head straight to our destination. The pickups took us a long time and by the time we were out of the city it was already 9 am.

Lately I have been reducing my sleep time by almost 30 min daily. This ‘lost’ sleep I made up in weekends by sleeping a few hours at noon. This system worked flawlessly for the first few weeks and then I just could not find time on weekends to sleep. All the pending sleep was building on me and this trip came a welcome break for me to get some rest. In the 7-8 hrs of journey we had I slept almost 75% of the time. I normally love to keep a look out for photos ect while we are travelling but my body went into snooze mode almost immediately.
