Personally I have a great fondness for Football. I have loved it as a player and I have loved it immensely as a viewer but the playing happened about four years ago and viewing stopped about two years later. I am very fascinated by the size of the event and totally love all the grandeur it brings but… I dont really care who wins.

I have watched World Cups before and have supported Germany, England and Spain at different times. Ironically each time I supported them they failed to make it to the top 8… Actually I think Germany managed to make it to the finals one of those times but I think I was supporting England that year

Well so the sporting events I am actually looking forward to this month are the Formula One races(we have one this weekend!) and Wimbledon.

Ps: For kicks (bad pun eh) I hope Spain wins… I always never liked Brazil so guess I wont be cheering for them (particularly)

I have been watching Formula One for about eight years now. During this time I have truly supported two teams and two drivers.

The first of the driver-team combos I followed was the Schumacher-Ferrari combination. Then in early 2003 I switched to Alonso-Renault. At the time I truly believed that only Alonso could step up and challenge the master, two years later he was the champion.

In the following years Alonso moved to McLaren but my loyalty always remained with Renault. He returned to Renault in 2008 and I was happy to see my favorite driver in my favorite team. Now after two years Alonso is moving to Ferrari, this time though my allegiance switches with him

I cant remember a season of Formula One I was more thrilled about. The return of Micheal Schumacher has only added to the anticipation for the next few months. And today was the launch of the new Ferrari F1 car! An event that served only like a trailer to the blockbuster that this season is going to be.

Something truly special is on the cards this year

A couple of weeks ago, I had been to Kanteerva Indoor Stadium in Bangalore to pick up my entry to the 10k run. Outside the stadium I was pleasantly surprised to find the 2008 Force India car.

The car didnt do great in the world championship but it looked gorgeous(as every F1 car looks). I spent a little time near the car snapping it in different angles.

The Formula One season is right around the corner and I am really excited about it. Every year for me, the month of march is a dedicated wait for the engines to start roaring again.

I have been watching Formula One religiously since mid 2002. Since early 2005 I have been following the sport on line. For a brief dedicated stint I even maintained a Formula One blog (F1Jam.com) along with my then colleagues. 2007-08 saw me drop away slowly and steadily from writing about formula one. With lots of things happening around me I even missed a few grand prix last year. But this year things are already different.

F1Jam is back and with a bang. The F1 community is buzzing with speculation and wonder as to how this year will pan out for the top drivers and the teams… and I find this renewed drive to rekindle the romance with my favorite sport

At the start of this weekend that first pictures from Singapore did it. The gorgeous track basked in the beautiful artificial lighting is locked away in my memory. But this weekend had more to offer

One of my friends called me with about 25 laps to go, he was all excited about how Alonso had managed to lead the race and all I told him in a calm voice is “25 more laps to go or 45 min more, anything can happen. Will call you after the race.” It wasn’t that I doubted that Alonso could win… he has won more times that any other driver racing on that track. It was just that I could not believe that this was even happening.

I guess the only word I can think of is vindication

Ps: I now hate myself for not pushing for going to Singapore to watch the race live… This would have been the most perfect place and race to watch my first F1 race.
