Hi Sujit,

After the resumption of Train Services in the route trekking has continued… Its only adviced to be careful about the trains when crossing bridges, tunnels ect.

The current time seems good for treking… considering its a long weekend there might be other trekkers there as well. The thing to watch out for is the rains and leeches, which were absent during my trip… If you hv done many treks before this should not be much of a prob.

I just chanced upon ur blog while I was searching for some recent info on the green route.Absolutely fantastic man!
It’s pretty irritating for me to think that I haven’t gone on this particular trek even after planning many times…part of it was due to the rumour that train services have started and trekkng is banned here.

Could you get some info it’s possible to trek in here this weekend? Or may I ask if you ppl have been planning to go any treks as we have a longer weekend this time?

Thanks for visiting my blog . The green route is very much open for treking(either that or we got away doing something illegal :P, Along the route we did see work going into the upgrading of the track but nobody questioned us… This time of the year is fine but if you are an experienced trekker the Rainy season is said to be both beautiful and a little difficult. If you do go now you will not hv to deal with problems of the rainy season(like leeches)

I am Shekhar, software engineer from bangalore. I am surprised to see your blog as I heard green route trekking was banned by railway department for upgrading the bangalore mangalore broadguage, last year I thought to go for trekking on this route, but due to romour I cancelled, thanks for your blog, now I can plan for trekking on this route, just wanted to ask you is it fine now(april- may) to trekking this route. Your suggestion will encourage us for this journey.
