Club Cabana

Applibase decided to take a day off from work to relax and strech their legs. The destination Club Cabana on the outskirts of Bangalore.
We started at around 10 am about half an hour later than we planned. The ride to the resort was pretty uneventful except for that small traffic jam near Yehalanka (in front of a police station that too, must have been trouble). We were pretty unsure of the route (to put it lightly) but we caught up with one of the Club Cabana Buses and simply followed it to the destination.
The first impression of the place was its huge. The serene surroundings of the place was perfect for relaxing, the gardens extended till the eyes could see and the swimming pools looked really inviting.
We all were tagged with bands, purple one for “Club Cabana Visitors”(I think) and a red one for Swimming. The club is split at the center by the main road and these bands was a way of knowing who is trespassing.
Once we were done with the tagging we resumed with a nice photo session in the lobby of the resort. The chests lined up one over the other looked great and the Pots and the fountain were really beautiful.

We headed towards the tennis and the shuttle courts, which unfortunately turned out to be occupied. HP and Intel had bought a bunch of their employees to the club and the club was clearly over crowded. We managed to get hold of the Squash court and the volleyball court.

I played a little bit of squash with Tony and then with Preethi, the game is similar to tennis but the ball hardly bounces and it requires more effort to keep the ball in play.
We decided to give snooker a try and headed to the snooker tables. The table was occupied but it looked like the game going to finsh soon. Moments before the game finished Anant told me the tennis court may be empty and I rushed to check. He was right, Sid and I played a set of tennis with 2 guys from HP. The game was fun, my service was good but guess the batmiton has ruined my forehand. Sid looked exhaused by the end of the set and the sun was not doing us any favours.
It was lunch time and we all headed for the buffet. The food was good, both veg and non-veg was delicious. I particualrly enjoyed the fish. The dessert was delicious and considering we were famished, lunch was exactly what we needed.
After lunch we were informed that our bowling slot was at around 4:30. This meant we had about an hour of time free and we needed that for swimming. Sid, Theju and I decided to get into the pool. Theju and I had not bought any swimwear so had to purchase them at the place. The trunks were well…. lets not go there, lets just say we are happy nobody took pics ![]()
We started with some pool games, one was to cross the pool using a rope and some floating supports, boy was that fun
. We then headed to the pool that made most sense to us the “Lazy Pool”. It was basically a moat in which we would float slowly in circles. That was fun for a while
. The tidal pool was next and the waves were really good. It was here when Preethi joined us. Shruthi decided not to join us at the last moment and we all played in the tidal pool. We made a visit to the lazy pool again and this time we were toppeling each others off.

The giant slides was next in our list. The 3 slides were clearly fun and we didnt need much motivation to get into it. Once the slides were done it was time we headed to the bowling alley. The bowling alley was antique. The screen looked really like from the 80s but maybe thats coz I am so used to Ameoba.
There was a limit of 6 per alley and that meant Sid was left to bowl a frame on his own. He basically started last and finished first
. Anant kept himself busy jinxing me and Shruthi. Unforutantely for him I was not in a jinxy mood but I guess Shruthi made it up. Very soon she was chasing Anant around telling him not to jinx her.

After Bowling it was time to head back. We spent some time taking photos and remembered that we had missed the Trampoline. We decided to spend a few mins there, as soon as we got on top of it we realized that this was the best part of the club. We took turns trying to jump higher and managed to take some videos of the funny attempts. Theju jumped the highest and I managed to do a decent job in the air and trust me that was really fun.
Few mins later we were heading back to office on our bus. A day none of us will forget in a hurry.

[...] Post Club Cabana, I have been tending to injuries. Mostly involving a short burst of cramps on the swimming pool. The pain has seemed to have increased though its clearly not cramps. My left thy and hamstring are pretty much like battle injuries and my left arm also is not doing me any favours hurting for small movements. [...]
I could do a bit better on the bowling front if I can get a little more control over my speed
